MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation - REVIEW

Hello Guys!
Here, as promised, is the MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation review!
I ventured into John Lewis a few days ago, immediately being drawn to the MAC counter. I have thought about purchasing this foundation may times, but couldn't really decide whether it was the right thing for me. Lucky for me, there was a 10% discount on all products that day, so I thought why not and grabbed one of the girls to colour match me.
I love the service at MAC, it has never failed me. The girl helping me was very kind and went through all their different foundations to match my expectations. We both decided on the Studio Fix Fluid Foundation. I was a bit torn between buying this one and the more dewier, MAC Studio Sculpt but in the end I picked the matte finish.

What MAC promises - 'Provides medium buildable coverage and flawless natural-matte finish. Includes SPF 15 for everyday sun protection. Oil-free and long-wearing. '

The shade I was matched to was NC15, below are the swatches I made ( Just a heads up, my arms are still very tanned from the summer, therefore ignore the BIG contrast, the colour matches my face and neck perfectly) .

This foundation blends super easily! I used a mix of the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush and my Real Techniques Beauty Sponge to apply the product. The finish is a nice matte, not too cakey but it does not give off any shine either, I am a big fan of the finish, with a nice illuminating primer underneath, the finish would be gorgeous! The coverage is also very good, as someone who prefers a good amount of coverage, this foundation offers the perfect amount to cover any imperfections yet still look like skin, Another pro is that it is buildable, after applying one layer I had a few red spots near my breakouts so I covered them with another layer and.. voila! I think my best tip for this product is to use thin layers, that way you can build them easily and not go overboard, creating a 'mask' effect. As for how long wearing it is, I applied it at 10am and had it on until 10pm. Between these 12 hours, I checked up on it about every 2-3 hours. To my delight, it lasted very well! There were only some places where the foundation began to wear off but it was only visible very close up.

Onto the disadvantages, I personally HATE the smell of this foundation. It really heavily reminds me of the sterile smell of the dentist - I should probably mention that I absolutely hate the dentist. You can probably realise why this smell can be problematic to me. Alright.. Alright.. The smell I can deal with, however, the biggest con of this foundation is the fact that it clings onto dry patches. In my intro post I talked about how I do have a few areas where my skin is very dry, therefore I was really disappointed when this product created this nasty looking flaky effect between my brows. I did use a primer and moisturizer before testing this product, but maybe using a stronger moisturizer or using a setting spray would make a difference.
So to sum everything up, lets reflect back on what MAC promised this foundation does, and check if it true:
Medium buildable coverage - Definitely true!
Flawless natural-matte finish - Flawless? Maybe if you have a more oily complexion. However, it is a very nice Natural-matte finish!
Oil-free - It did not become shiny, or let any oil through the whole 12 hours
 Long-wearing - Definitely!
So far, this is one of my favourite foundations and I would recommend it, especially to people with a slightly oilier skin then mine. I will include a link to all products I used below.
