ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS - THAT GLOW KIT
2:36:00 PM
Hello!
Today I am reviewing the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow kit in That Glow. Anastasia Beverley Hills is known for it's amazing quality products and their highlighters are amongst the most raved about. These kits come in a few shade options, 'Gleam', 'Sun Dipped', 'Sweets' and 'That Glow' which is the palette that I am reviewing today. This palette contains 4 different gold based highlighter shades and is described as 'A collection of four metallic powder highlighters for intense luminosity'.
Straight of the bat I knew these would be super pigmented, as soon as I opened the palette the shine of the colour's was clearly evident. They literally GLOWED! Below are the swatches of all 4 shades:
Left to right we have:
Sunburst - A very light gold. It immediately stands out as it is a lot lighter then the other three shades.
On the ABH website it is described as a 'Bright, luminous gold with a metallic finish'
Golden Bronze - For me this was the most unpractical shade as my skin tone is quite fair and this shade is definitely a dark copper-gold. It is super shiny but too dark for my skin.
On the ABH website it is described as a 'Sultry, warm bronze with a gold-flecked finish'
Bubbly - This is my second favourite, it is a gorgeous champagne - blushy highlight.
On the ABH website it is described as a ' Rose champagne with a pearlescent finish '
Dripping In Gold - Now this, for me, is the star of the show! This shade is a gorgeous true gold, I am sure it would complement most skin tones and give them the, much wanted, intense glow from within.
On the ABH website it is described as a 'Lavish gold with a vivid, reflective finish'
My negatives for this product are pretty limited... The biggest negative for me would be the packaging of the actual highlights. This may be just be my fault, but I thought I would share this with you anyway... I took out 'Dripping In Gold' from the palette and transferred it to a magnetic palette so I could have it on hand with some of my favourite eye shadows. Sometime during the day while I had the palette in my handbag the highlighter broke! It was super surprising because I was using this magnetic palette for so long and never had any of my eyshadows break, which lead me to think there was something wrong with either the packaging or the actual pigment. Luckily, I managed to save it with the use of some DIY skills..
So to sum everything up, I would recommend this palette to anyone looking for a dramatic glow. It does come with quite a hefty price tag of around £44 but it is worth every penny! Leave me a comment below if you would like me to make a blog post all about the best drugstore highlighters!
