Price & Availability
Firstly, let's start off with the price and availability of Juvia's Place products. Their palettes are seriously affordable, retailing from £20 to £35. They are available to purchase through BeautyBay or the Juvia's Place's own online shop. This particular palette, called 'Zulu' only cost me £20. You receive 9 shadows, in big pans. So you definitely get a decent amount of product for the price.
Packaging
The palette arrived in a pretty box, with bubble wrap keeping the palette safe. The actual packaging itself if cardboard but it has a nice weight to it. It also has a holographic finish which makes the design so much more interesting. I personally really like the design, the pictures are very unique to the brand istelf.
Shadows
The colours in this palette are a perfect mix of inspiring bright and wearable shades. You get 6 mattes and 3 shimmers. The shimmer shadows are extremely pigmented and metallic. They are smooth and very easy to apply. To me, an important feature of every metallic eyeshadow is their opaqueness, I hate shadows where you have to apply multiple layers for them to cover. With the juvia's place shadows, one layer is enough to reach an intense colour payoff.
However, there is inconsistency within this palette. While the mattes are very easy to blend and have a buttery texture, some of the shades are not as pigmented as the others. In the swatches below you can see how the purple and brown are much less pigmented than the other colours. Having said that, that can make them easier to work with as it ensures you do not overload your brush with too much pigment. It might take a little longer to reach intense colour but their easy to blend texture definitely compensates.
In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this palette to anyone looking for a bright, fun coloured palette. The versatility in these shades is so great, you can create anything from crazy ainbow looks to pretty pink smokey eyes or even go for an everyday neutral eye. The biggest pro's for the palette are it's high quality shimmers and the ability to create day and night looks.
